The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Shiv Sena alliance is heading towards the half-mark of 114 seats in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections as the State Election Commission declared results for 204 of the 227 seats in India’s richest civic body.

BJP-Shiv Sena alliance has won 110 seats. BJP has emerged as the largest party in the BMC elections, winning 85 seats, while alliance partner Shiv Sena emerged victorious on 25 seats. The Thackeray brothers, who had formed an alliance to contest the Mumbai local body elections on the issue of Marathi Manush, trailed with 65 seats, while Shiv Sena (UBT) performed brilliantly by winning 60 seats.

Congress won 19 seats, NCP (SP) one, NCP two and others seven. According to Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and other BJP leaders, the alliance achieved such a huge victory in the state’s municipal elections because of its “development agenda”.

While Uddhav and Raj Thackeray tried to consolidate votes on the issue of revival of Marathi language and Marathi Manush identity, the saffron alliance’s development works, including Metro Aqua Line and coastal road, helped them gain an edge in the BMC elections.

Tamil Nadu BJP leader K. In response to MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s ‘rasmalai’ jibe at Annamalai, Mumbai BJP chief spokesperson Niranjan Shetty and others celebrated the party’s victory by distributing rasmalai. Raj Thackeray had taken a sharp dig at the BJP leader, whom he sarcastically called ‘Rasmalai’.

The uncle-niece duo of Sharad and Ajit Pawar, who had united both factions of the NCP, failed to consolidate their position in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Results of 135 out of 165 seats in Pune have been declared. BJP won 96 seats, while NCP got only 20 seats. NCP (SP) won three seats. Congress won 15 seats here.

Of the 127 seats declared in Pimpri-Chinchwad, the Yuthi alliance won 90 seats, while the BJP crossed the majority mark by winning 84 seats. Ajit Pawar’s NCP won 36 seats, while political veteran and senior NCP leader Sharad Pawar could not win a single seat in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

In Nagpur, the home town of Devendra Fadnavis, the BJP won a big victory, winning 102 seats out of the total 151 seats, defeating the Congress only on 74 seats. In Nagpur, which is the home town of Devendra Fadnavis, the BJP won a big victory, winning 102 seats out of the total 151 seats, while the Congress got only 34 seats.

Meanwhile, the Yuthi alliance won with an overwhelming majority in the Navi Mumbai municipal elections, with the BJP winning 65 seats and Shiv Sena 42 out of the total 111 seats. In Ulhasnagar, BJP won 37 seats and its ally Shinde Sena won 36 out of 78 seats.

In Panvel and Dhule, the BJP alone crossed the majority mark for the grand alliance, winning 55 out of 78 and 50 out of 74 seats respectively, while Shiv Sena won two and five seats respectively. The saffron color dominated in Jalgaon, where BJP won 46 out of 75 seats and Shiv Sena 22 seats.

In Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad, the BJP alone crossed the majority mark and won 39 out of 78 seats, while Shiv Sena and NCP won two and 16 seats respectively. Congress won 18 seats here. In Jalna, BJP-Shiv Sena won 53 out of 65 seats, defeating Congress, which got only nine seats.

Congress won 43 out of 70 seats in Latur, defeating BJP by 22 seats and National Committee by 1 seat. Although the Congress gave a tough fight in Kolhapur, winning 34 seats, the saffron alliance emerged victorious, with the BJP winning 26 and Shiv Sena 15 out of the total 81 seats.

In Eknath Shinde’s stronghold, Shiv Sena emerged victorious for the alliance, winning 75 of the 131 seats, while the BJP got 28 seats. In Kalyan-Dombivli, the alliance won easily by winning 104 out of 122 seats.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the BJP-Shiv Sena-led victory in the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation elections, crediting the victory to the agenda of “people-friendly good governance”. Expressing his gratitude to the voters, Prime Minister Modi said that the NDA’s vision of development has touched the hearts of the people of the state.

He also praised NDA workers for this victory, calling it an “exposition of the lies of the opposition.” “I am very proud of every NDA worker who worked tirelessly among the people across Maharashtra.”

“He spoke about the past record of our alliance, highlighted our vision for the future and effectively refuted the lies of the opposition. My best wishes are with him,” the Prime Minister wrote. Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah lauded the victory, saying the victory reflects people’s faith in the development policies of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government.

In a post, Amit Shah attributed the victory to the development and welfare works of the state government. He wrote, “The landslide victory of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation elections shows that the people across the country have unwavering faith in the development policies of the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This historic success is a clear endorsement by the public of the development and welfare work done by the Mahayuti government in the state.”

Heartfelt thanks to the people of Maharashtra for this tremendous support. Addressing BJP workers at the party office in Mumbai, Devendra Fadnavis said, “BJP and Mahayuti are going to form their 25 mayors after these elections.”

After Mahayuti’s landslide victory in the state assembly elections, Fadnavis said that the victory in the municipal corporation elections is a proof of the people’s trust in Prime Minister Modi.

“We fought these elections under the leadership of Modi ji with a vision of development. And the voters have well accepted our development agenda. That is why we have got record-breaking mandates in many municipal bodies. It is clear that people have proved that they want a development agenda. These results have also made it clear that Maharashtra still has faith in Modi ji. On this occasion, I also remember Balasaheb Thackeray,” he said.

He further said that this alliance will “transform” cities and work for the poor and the middle class. The Chief Minister said, “Wherever we come to power, we will transform the cities and try to transform the lives of all the poor and middle class people in those cities. The essence of our work and our thinking is Hindutva and we are proud of it. So for us, development and Hindutva cannot be separated. Our spirit of being Hindu has brought us to the people of Maharashtra and we do not believe in narrow-minded Hindutva, rather we believe in the broader form of Hindutva. Our Hindutva embraces all those who call themselves Considered a part of Indian civilization.”

Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule hailed the “dual-engine” government for the BJP-Shiv Sena’s emerging victory in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, saying the public has voted for the city’s development. Expressing confidence, Bawankule claimed that the BJP will win with a two-thirds majority in the 29 municipal corporations.

Addressing a press conference in Nagpur, the BJP leader said, “I am confident that the BJP will get a two-thirds majority in the state. People have shown confidence in the grand alliance of Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde and the two-engine government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The people of Mumbai have voted for development. Devendra Fadnavis has prepared a plan for the development of Mumbai. Metro railways, coastal roads… both (state and central) governments believe in the development of the city. Are.”

Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar thanked the people of Mumbai for reposing confidence in the BJP alliance after the municipal elections and said the mandate reflects their desire for the development of the city.

Three members of Maharashtra’s Kolhe family, Lalit Kolhe, Sindhutai Kolhe and Piyush Lalit Kolhe, shared an emotional moment in Jalgaon after winning the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation (JMC) elections.

Shiv Sena candidate Lalit Kolhe was arrested in September in connection with the fake call center scam and contested the elections from jail. While being a member of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Lalit Kolhe has also been the Mayor of Jalgaon in 2018. After this, BJP leader Seema Bhole held the post of mayor from 2018 to 2021. Since 2021, Shiv Sena’s Jayashree Mahajan is the mayor of Jalgaon Municipal Corporation. Speaking to ANI, Piyush Kolhe, who won from Ward No. 4 of Jalgaon, celebrated the victory, saying that we have achieved this victory after many people “tried to bring us down”.

“Three members of our family have won the elections. As my mother said, voters have shown their love for Lalit Kolhe. For the last 15-20 days, people were trying to humiliate us, but truth always prevails,” Piyush Kolhe told ANI.

Sarita Kolhe, mother of accused Lalit Kolhe, had taken an oath that she would not wear slippers until her son came out of jail.

Expressing gratitude towards the voters, BJP’s victorious candidate Shilpa Keluskar thanked them after winning from Ward 173 in the BMC elections on Friday. Voting was held for a total of 29 municipal corporations on Thursday, and the counting of votes for all the local bodies is taking place today.
