India’s Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has had a special meeting with UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber in Goa. The meeting took place just before the start of India Energy Week 2026. During this, both the leaders discussed energy security and recent agreements.
India Energy Week organized in Goa
The 4th edition of India Energy Week (IEW) is running from 27 January to 30 January 2026 in Goa. This program was inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This program has been organized to promote investment and security in the energy sector. In this, the ministers of India and UAE recalled their previous meetings and agreements.
Gas deal between HPCL and ADNOC
Recently, a huge agreement was signed during the visit of UAE President to India. This agreement has been signed between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Abu Dhabi company ADNOC Gas. Under this long term deal, India will continue to get gas supply for a long time.

Increased cooperation in these areas
Hardeep Singh Puri said that the scope of cooperation between the two countries is continuously increasing. Areas like procurement of hydrocarbons, chemicals, critical minerals and strategic petroleum reserves were discussed in the meeting. Both the countries are no longer limited to just purchasing oil, but are also working together on new energy options.
Big goal of increasing business
India and UAE have decided to further strengthen their relations. Both countries aim to take mutual trade to $200 billion by 2032. Apart from energy, both the countries are also working together in areas like defence, space and nuclear energy.
