Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting her 9th budget today, has made many big announcements for the health sector. The government has decided that three new All India Ayurveda Institutes (Ayurveda AIIMS) will be opened in the country. Along with this, 5 new regional medical centers will also be built in different parts of the country so that people do not have to go far for treatment.
Government’s plan on Ayurveda and medical hub
The government is emphasizing on promoting traditional medicine. For this purpose, three new Ayurveda AIIMS will be established. The names of their cities have not been decided yet, but soon the places will be finalized after talking to the states. Apart from this, 5 regional medical hubs will also be prepared in collaboration with the private sector. Modern treatment facilities will be available in these centers and medical tourism will also benefit.
What did you get in terms of employment and other facilities?
Employment opportunities for youth in the health sector will also be increased. The government has set a target of training 1.5 lakh caregivers. There will also be work for the treatment of animals and the number of veterinary doctors will be increased to 20,000. ‘NIMHANS 2.0’ will be set up to improve mental health services in North India. The WHO Global Center in Jamnagar, Gujarat will also be upgraded.
