Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address separate public meetings in different parts of Bihar on Friday. Assembly elections are to be held in the state in two phases on November 6 and 11.
Prime Minister Modi will address two election rallies in Samastipur and Begusarai districts while Shah will address election meetings in Siwan and Buxar.

Self. Last year, Thakur was posthumously awarded the country’s highest civilian honor ‘Bharat Ratna’ by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.
Shah’s meetings are being seen as a way to give momentum to the election campaign in West Bihar for the party.
BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal, while targeting the opposition parties, had said, “On one hand, the Congress party is trying to deprive Karpoori Thakur of the title of ‘Jananayak’, while on the other hand, Prime Minister Modi himself will go to his village and start the election campaign by paying tribute to Bharat Ratna Jannayak Karpoori Thakur. This is the difference between the NDA and the ‘India’ alliance.” He claimed that this time NDA is in the election field in Bihar with full strength and unity and the public trust is with NDA under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Elections for the state’s 243-member Assembly will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, while the results will be declared on November 14.
