Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday hit out at Devendra Fadnavis’s “existence is in danger” comment against the Thackeray brothers, saying the Maharashtra Chief Minister should worry about himself as the Thackeray family is capable of handling threats against itself. Addressing a press conference here, he said Fadnavis’s comment in which he questioned the work done by the Thackeray brothers for the Marathi ‘manush’ was actually a reference to the Shiv Sena founder. Bal Thackeray had a challenge.
Raut said, “Devendra Bhau, don’t worry about us. The Thackeray family is capable of facing threats against itself. We are not scared like you. We do not create fake voter lists to win elections. We do not distribute money like you. You worry about yourself.”
The UBT Sena MP strongly criticized Fadnavis, saying that the issue of “Bhoomiputra” in Maharashtra has remained relevant for the last 60 years. Raut further said that if Bal Thackeray had not strengthened the party, no one would have cared about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He stressed that the Marathi ‘Manush’ is in danger because of the BJP.
Raut said, “This issue has been going on in Maharashtra for 60 years. This is not about the Thackeray brothers. They are challenging the Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray. Balasaheb strengthened your party, and you are challenging him? Otherwise, no one would care about you. You did not have two leaders whose posters you could put up in Mumbai and Maharashtra. If any Marathi person is in danger, it is because of the BJP. That is why we are in a direct fight with the BJP.” Is.”
Earlier, Fadnavis and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a joint rally at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, in which they launched a scathing attack on the Thackeray brothers. The Chief Minister questioned the Thackeray brothers about the work done by them for Marathi ‘Manush’ in the last few decades.
Fadnavis raised the question by saying that it is not the Marathi manush but the existence of the Thackeray brothers that is in danger. Fadnavis also claimed that the new mayor of BMC “will be from the Mahayuti community, will be a Hindu and will be a Marathi.” Refuting claims by the opposition that the “Marathi manush” is in danger, Fadnavis said that it is not the Marathi community but some political forces whose existence is in danger, stressing that Maharashtra is for all Marathi people. Belongs to, and not to any one group.
“The existence of Marathi people is not in danger. Your existence is at stake. I want to say again that you do not represent the entire Maharashtra. You are not the only Marathi here. I want to reiterate that only a Marathi person will be in power in the BMC. Only Marathi will lead,” Fadnavis said.
Voting for the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections will take place on January 15, along with voting for more than 20 other municipal corporations. The results will be declared on January 16.
