New Delhi. Samajwadi Party leader Irfan Solanki has got a big relief today. The Allahabad High Court has approved his bail plea in the gangster case. With this, the way has now been cleared to come out of jail. Irfan has been in jail for almost two years. After his arrest, he was kept in Kanpur jail, later sent to Maharajganj jail. The bail applications of Irfan’s brother Rizwan Solanki and Israel Filmala have also been approved by the court. Kanpur’s MPMLA court sentenced Irfan to seven years, due to which his legislature was canceled.
Irfan Solanki was an MLA from Sisamau assembly seat in Kanpur. A woman living in Jajmau had alleged that on 22 November 2022, Irfan Solanki set fire to her hut with the intention of capturing her plot. In this case, an FIR was lodged against Irfan Solanki along with his brother Rizwan Solanki, Israel Flood, Shaukat Pahalwan and Sharif. Kanpur MP-MLA court sentenced Irfan and other accused to seven years. Due to this, Irfan’s assembly membership was canceled and the by -election had to be held in Sisamau seat.

Akhilesh Yadav fielded Irfan’s wife Nasim Solanki and fielded the seamamau seat again in the SP’s court. The police put a gangster on other accused, including Irfan, after which Irfan approached the Allahabad High Court for bail. The bench of Allahabad High Court Justice Sameer Jain had earlier reserved the verdict on 2 September after the arguments of both sides were completed. Irfan has already got bail in other cases including extortion, so he may be released from jail soon.
