The temperature in the national capital Delhi dropped to 15.8 degrees Celsius, the lowest temperature recorded in October in the last two years. The air quality index in the capital reached ‘very poor’ condition on Sunday.
According to Central Pollution Control Board’s Sameer App data, the air quality index (AQI) in the city was recorded at 324, which falls in the ‘very poor’ category, while it was 292 a day earlier. The AQI has remained ‘poor’ for the last two days.
According to the data, Delhi’s Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 429, indicating ‘severe’ air quality. After this AQI 400 was recorded in Wazirpur.
According to this, 28 monitoring stations in the capital have recorded AQI above 300, this figure indicates that the air quality is ‘very poor’.
According to CPCB, ‘AQI’ between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature was recorded at 15.8 degrees Celsius, which is 1.4 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature had fallen to 15.9 degrees Celsius in October 2023. Humidity in Delhi was 66 percent at 8.30 am.
The maximum temperature is likely to be around 30 degrees Celsius. IMD has predicted clear sky and partly cloudy sky in the evening or night.
