The Election Commission said on Wednesday that the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct also apply to the Central Government regarding announcements related to Bihar and policy decisions.

The Election Code of Conduct came into force soon after the Election Commission (EC) announced the program of Bihar assembly elections on Monday.

Explain that polling in the state will be held on November 6 and 11 and the counting of votes will be held on 14 November.

In a statement issued, the Commission said, “The ideal code of conduct regarding announcements/policy decisions for Bihar will also be applicable to the Central Government.”

The Commission also said that the privacy of citizens should be respected and no demonstration or crowd should be gathered outside the private houses. It states, “Land, building or walls will not be used to put flags, banners or posters without the consent of the owner.”

The Commission has also issued instructions to the Chief Secretary of Bihar regarding removing government, public and private properties. Any political party, candidate or any other person associated with election has also been banned from misuse of government vehicles or government houses and issuing advertisements from government treasures.
