The air quality in the national capital Delhi remained in the ‘very poor’ category on Saturday morning and the air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 335 at 9 am.
According to the ‘Sameer App’ of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality was also recorded as ‘very poor’ at 36 monitoring centers in the capital. Among these centres, the worst level of air quality was recorded in Mundka, where the AQI stood at 387.
As per CPCB standards, an air quality index between zero to 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’ and an AQI between 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
There were a lot of fluctuations in the air quality of Delhi this week. According to the information, AQI was recorded at 279 on Sunday and it was 304 on Monday. On Tuesday, AQI increased to 372 and on Wednesday it remained 342.
The AQI in the capital on Thursday and Friday was 304 and 327 respectively, which falls in the ‘very poor’ category.
Meanwhile, today i.e. Saturday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 6.8 degrees Celsius, which is 2.7 degrees Celsius below normal and the relative humidity in the morning was 95 percent. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature can reach 24 degrees Celsius.
