The Assam government on Saturday declared a three -day state mourning on the death of singer Zubeen Garg.
Chief Secretary Ravi Kota announced this in a post on X.
He said, “The Assam government expresses deep mourning and grief over the death of famous singer, filmmaker and cultural symbol Mr. Zubeen Garg.”
He said, “State mourning has been declared from 20 to 22 September. There will be no official entertainment, dinner or formal ceremony during this period.”
Kota said that ‘Seva Week’ programs will also be postponed as an honor.
He said, “However, service-oriented activities like health camps, TB patients will continue to be-oriented activities such as Help and Plantation Campaign.”
