Dehradun Police on Saturday registered a case in connection with the attack on Primary Education Director Ajay Naudiyal at Uttarakhand Primary Education Directorate at Raipur Police Station. Education Director Ajay Naudiyal had lodged a complaint at Raipur Police Station. On the basis of this complaint, the police registered a case against BJP MLA Umesh Sharma Kau and his supporters.
Meanwhile, Dehradun SSP Pramendra Dobal told ANI over phone that a cross FIR has been registered in this case. Along with the complaint of the Director of Education, the police have also registered a case on the basis of the complaint given by the MLA party.
The clash took place at the Uttarakhand Education Directorate on Saturday, when BJP MLA Umesh Sharma Kau and his supporters allegedly attacked Primary Education Director Ajay Kumar Naudiyal during a dispute over changing the name of a school.
Naudiyal, who was taken to Coronation Hospital after suffering serious head injuries, claimed that the MLA and around 25 of his colleagues barged into his office, verbally abused him and even assaulted him after he told him that the state government’s approval was required to change the name of the school. However, the BJP MLA denied all allegations of assault, saying that the officer had misbehaved with him and a family who had come to inquire about changing the name of the school.
On this matter, Congress leader Harish Rawat says, “There should be no place for this kind of violence in our lives. We should also respect the dignity of government employees.”
BJP MLA Umesh Sharma Kau said on the same issue, “There was no scuffle or fight. This is a well-planned conspiracy by a retiring officer. A family had donated land for the school for free. The head of the family passed away. For the last seven-eight months, the family members have been demanding that the school be named after them.”
After the incident occurred, protests started in front of the Directorate of Education in Dehradun. The protest followed the incident in which BJP MLA Umesh Sharma Kau and his supporters barged into the office and attacked Primary Education Director Ajay Kumar over the issue of changing the name of the school.
