As per the agenda on Wednesday, the third day of the winter session of the Delhi Assembly, Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa will make a statement regarding the current state of the environment in the national capital and important steps being taken by the government to control pollution.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will lay copies of various reports on the Table of the House. Legislative Affairs Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh will introduce the ‘Court Fees (Delhi Amendment) Bill, 2026 (Bill No. 01 of 2026)’ introduced in the House on January 6 for consideration and passing.
As per the agenda, Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh will introduce the “Delhi Public Trust (Amendment) Bill, 2026” and Minister Kapil Mishra will introduce the “Delhi Shops and Establishments (Amendment) Bill, 2026” in the Delhi Assembly Building. Minister Ashish Sood will make a statement regarding the 150th anniversary of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’.
MLA Anil Kumar Sharma will congratulate the Delhi government on the successful implementation of the ‘Atal Canteen Yojana’. This morning, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) protested in the Delhi Assembly complex, highlighting the rising air pollution and deteriorating AQI levels in the national capital.
Atishi, leader of the opposition in the Delhi Assembly and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, alleged that the BJP is “running away” from addressing the serious issue of pollution, and accused the ruling party of shirking accountability and refusing to engage in a meaningful discussion on the matter.
Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) recorded 310 at 4 pm today, which is in the ‘very poor’ category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs also protested inside the Delhi Assembly on Monday, demanding immediate policy measures and accountability on the capital’s air quality. Party leaders demanded strict action to curb pollution, including controlling vehicular emissions, industrial waste and stubble burning in neighboring states. The winter session of the Delhi Assembly began on January 5 (Monday) and will continue till January 8.
