Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Vice Chancellor Shantisree Dhulipudi Pandit has said that she loves JNU as it is the best university in the country. There are some things he doesn’t like about the university. He also talked about this. JNU VC said that students feel that everything is free here. At the same time, he also said that there should be no place for ‘hate’ for other ideologies in JNU.
Shantisree Dhulipudi Pandit was asked what are the two things she doesn’t like about JNU or wants to change them? To this he said, “Two things I don’t like is an illusion. Students think everything is free. When they go out, some of them get mentally affected and they don’t want to leave JNU. Because the world is not like that and we don’t make them realistic. We think everything is like JNU.”
He said, “You can wear anything, nobody has any problem, but the outside world is not like that. Or even with freedom, they think that whatever you do, there will be no (police) case against you.”
Shantisree Dhulipudi Pandit said, “Secondly, there should be no place for hatred here. Keep your ideology, have your point of view but don’t hate. Hate is something that is so negative, and I think it is because we are on taxpayers money and there are a lot of people who keep writing ‘JNU ko bandh karo’.”
JNU VC said, “I think students should also understand that this is a phase of life. Live it, enjoy it, get out of here and do good as we did in our time. Don’t do anything that hurts you.” He also said that JNU has the best professors who are committed.”
