For the convenience of the people of Delhi, now new electric autos will be available on the roads of the capital. On Thursday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal flagged off these autos from the IP depot. On this occasion, the Chief Minister handed over the registration number (RC) of the auto to 20 auto drivers. These include women drivers. Kejriwal said that very soon thousands of electric autos will run on the roads of Delhi, our Delhi is fighting unitedly against pollution.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that a quota of about three and a half thousand people has been released on Thursday. These three and a half thousand people will drive e-autos on the roads of Delhi, this will also provide employment to three and a half thousand families. About 500 women drivers are also included in these 3.5 thousand e-auto drivers. Kejriwal claimed that the EV policy of the Delhi government is being praised all over the country, with Delhi now also being considered as ‘EV Capital’. In the first year itself after the implementation of the EV policy, 10 percent of the total vehicles purchased in Delhi are electric vehicles.
Delhi’s Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said that there is a subsidy of Rs 30,000 on every auto and if someone takes a loan, then a provision of five percent more rebate has been made in that too. He said that under the Electric Vehicle Policy of the Delhi Government, a provision has been made that a charging point must be found within a radius of three kilometers. In this, the Delhi government has also partnered with power companies. Under this, anyone can charge e-auto even in their home. Apart from this, preparations are on to install charging points on all the DMRC stations. The Delhi government had floated a tender for 300 electric charging stations. That too will be implemented soon.
He also told that the Kejriwal government has taken many measures for the empowerment of women, so that they can get employment. He said that license fee should be completely waived, physical height should also be reduced and instead of three years, now women can drive DTC or cluster buses after training for one month.
