The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is in action against the negligent officials. In this episode, on Wednesday (April 27, 2022), the Yogi government has fallen on IPS officer Alankrita Singh. The administration says that he has been suspended for dereliction of duty. Alankrita Singh is a 2008 batch IPS officer.
The administration said that Alankrita was on leave without official leave. According to the letter issued by the state government, Alankrita Singh was absent on duty and went abroad without the approval of the government. In view of his negligence, the administration has suspended him in exercise of the powers given under Rule 3 of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969. Alankrita was posted on the post of Women and Child Protection Organization (1090).
This is the second case in the Yogi government when an IPS officer has been suspended. Earlier, Ghaziabad SSP Pawan Kumar was suspended. The state government believed that they had failed to control crime. After this, he was suspended on 31 March.
Alankrita Singh has been absent continuously since October last year
According to the Uttar Pradesh government, Alankrita had been absent since October last year. On October 19, 2021, he had informed the ADG of Women and Child Protection Organization that he was in London by calling on WhatsApp. Thereafter, she was absent continuously since October 20.
The state administration said that the IPS officer was absent from the workplace without sanction of leave and was on foreign travel without official permission. Due to this it was decided to suspend Alankrita Singh. During the suspension period, she will be in touch with the DGP Headquarters. However, Alankrita’s side on the entire incident is not clear as there has been no response from her side. At the same time, taking the decision, the state government has given a message that negligence will not be tolerated at all.
