The Congress party has suffered a major setback in Karnataka. MLA CM Ibrahim has said goodbye to the party. He has submitted his resignation by writing a letter to the interim president of the party, Sonia Gandhi. In the letter, he has written that he resigns from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect. A meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) is to be held on Sunday to discuss the defeat in five states including Uttar Pradesh and the current political situation. Earlier Ibrahim has resigned.
In a letter to Sonia Gandhi, he said, “I resign from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect. I have written to you many times in the last 12 years. I put before you several complaints of the party and you replied that you will take necessary steps. But so far I don’t see any change.”
According to reports, Ibrahim may join the Janata Dal Secular (JDS), the party of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.
