This wheelchair was sold to more than 600 people, modern wheelchairs were given as a gift to 150 disabled people
Generally, the handicapped have to rely on others for everything they do. Apart from this, the imported chairs are not comfortable at all for the disabled, due to which they have to face a lot of trouble. Keeping this problem in mind, the team of Swastik Das and his professor Sujatha Srinivas, who passed out from IIT Madras, has taken a unique initiative. Under his new startup ‘Niyamonation’, he made motor wheel chairs and gave them as a gift to the differently-abled.
This electric wheelchair is the first electric wheelchair in India. This wheelchair can be driven on any road. Its maximum speed is 25 kilometers per hour. So far, this wheelchair has been sold to more than 600 people across the country, while 150 differently abled people have also been given it as a gift.
Sourav Das, an IIT Madras graduate and a native of Orissa, said that during his training at IIT, he got an opportunity to do research under his own professor at the Center for Revision Design and Disability. He says that his motor wheel chair is very comfortable and it will be of great benefit to the differently-abled.
Under this startup, the company is currently selling two types of Personalized Wheelchairs. First Neofly and second Neobolt, Neofly wheelchairs can be modified according to everyone’s lifestyle. While a separate motor has been installed in the Neobolt, with the help of which this scooter can also be converted into a scooter. A motorized wheelchair can travel up to 25 km on a single charge. Not only this, it also has safety features like brakes, horn, lights and mirrors. People are welcoming this initiative of Professor for the disabled.
