Narcotics Department released complete action plan of CPS method
Mandsaur (Rep. of New Zealand). Six thousand farmers of MP have got leases under the CPS method and till now there was confusion regarding the extraction of opium. The farmers were concerned whether to make incisions or not. On Thursday, the Department of Narcotics, removing all the concerns of the farmers, has issued a complete action plan to take the seeds by CPS method. The farmer has to dry the doda in the field itself and not make incisions in it. Farmers will be able to extract poppy seeds by making a hole. After that the remaining stick and eight inch stalk are to be submitted to the Narcotics Department. The officials of the Narcotics Department will inspect the field to see if the farmers have made an incision.
Sanjay Kumar Morya, Deputy Commissioner, Narcotics Department informed that in the year 2021-22, about six thousand farmers were given CPS system leases in MP for CPS production. Now opium has started growing in Dode and the farmers were very confused about whether to make an incision or not. Now the Union Finance Ministry has clarified the whole situation. The farmer does not have to make a dode-mant incision and let it dry. After inspection by the officials of the Narcotics Department, he will collect the ball by breaking it with an eight-inch stick or stalk. You will be able to remove the poppy seeds by making a hole in the dough.

When the opium crop is ready for harvesting, the officials of the Narcotics Department will inspect the field. After checking that the opium bales were not cut, the officer, in the presence of the lumberdar, would pluck all the opium pods with eight inches of stem or stalk and collect them at one place in the field.
After this, the licensed farmer whole pods will be safely stored with 8 inch stem or stalks. The poppy seed shall be separated without breaking or crushing the dodo. Poppy seeds can be removed by piercing the upper part of the dodo with a sharp object. The remaining opium dodos and their 8-inch stems will be packed in sacks.
– On the date fixed for weighing, the opium farmer or authorized representative will bring the empty balls filled in the sacks and their 8 inch stem or stalks to the weighing center. On the spot, in the presence of the village lambardar, the officers of the Narcotics Department will inspect and see that no incision has been made in any thread and no adulteration has been done in it.
At the weighing center, a sample of dodos weighing 500 grams, including their 8-inch stems or stalks, will be taken out in front of the Narcotics Department’s officer, village lumberdar and licensed opium cultivator or authorized representative. Sealed on the spot, the signature, thumb impression will be made by the departmental officer, village lumberdar, opium farmer or authorized representative.
Leveling and sealing will be done by packing the dodo and 8-inch stem or stalks in front of the lumberdar and opium farmer by the officer of the Narcotics Department at the weighing center by taking the sample. Peck opium dodo and 8-inch stem or stalks will be weighed by the Narcotics Department officials at the weighing center. According to the rules of weight in the departmental record, 100 percent will be paid to the farmer or his authorized representative as per the rate announced by the Government of India.
