If you are planning to visit major religious places in South India, then IRCTC’s new ‘South India Tour’ package is a great opportunity. This journey by ‘Bharat Gaurav Pravasi Train’ will run from 31 July 2026 to 11 August 2026. In this journey of 11 nights and 12 days, the travelers will visit Tirupati Balaji, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari and Srisailam. The starting price of this package is ₹23,560 per person.
Where will the train leave from?
This special train will run from Gorakhpur. Passengers can board the train from several stations en route, including Mankapur, Ayodhya Cantt, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj Sangam, Rae Bareli, Lucknow, Kanpur Central, Orai, Veerangana Laxmibai (Jhansi) and Lalitpur. The first stop of the yatra will be Renigunta, from where the passengers will be taken to Tirupati by road. Arrangements will be made to stay there for two nights, so that the pilgrims can visit Tirupati Balaji Temple. However, travelers will have to make their own arrangements for darshan at Tirumala. Apart from this, a visit to Shri Kalahasti Temple and Padmavati Temple will also be included.
Visit to Ramanathaswamy Temple
After this, the journey will proceed towards Rameshwaram. Here the travelers will visit the famous Ramanathaswamy temple and their stay will be arranged. If for some reason the train does not reach Rameshwaram station, passengers will be transported by road from Kudalnagar or Manamadurai station. Subsequently, the trip will also include a visit to the famous Meenakshi Amman Temple of Madurai.
Visit major local attractions
In the next leg of the journey, the pilgrims will reach Kanyakumari. Here they will see major local attractions including the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Finally, the train will reach Markapur Road, from where passengers will be taken by bus to Srisailam for darshan of Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga. After the darshan/pilgrimage the return journey will start and the train will return to Gorakhpur on 11th August.
The starting price of this package is ₹23,560 per person for sleeper economy class. Whereas, the fare for 3AC standard class is ₹ 39,100 per person and the fare for 2AC comfort class is ₹ 51,760 per person. Separate fare has been fixed for children. Passengers booking alone will have to share the room with another passenger on double or triple-sharing basis. The package includes travel by Bharat Gaurav train, hotel accommodation depending on the class chosen, ‘wash and change’ facility, morning tea, breakfast, vegetarian lunch and dinner, local transport, travel insurance, tour escort and services of IRCTC tour manager throughout the journey. The package also includes all applicable taxes.
