A woman killed her husband in Mysore district of Karnataka and then a false story of a tiger attack for government compensation of millions of rupees. Police arrested his wife, Sallapuri, for the murder of 45 -year -old Venkataswamy.
This sensational case is from Chikkahejur village of Hunsur taluka in Mysore. During the initial investigation, Sallapuri lodged a complaint at the Hunsur Rural Police Station that he and her husband were working in the paddy field when their husband suddenly went missing. She told the police that a tiger was seen in the village last Monday and she suspects that the tiger has attacked her husband.
Sallapuri created the entire story to mislead the police. Police and forest department employees jointly carried out a thorough search operation in the area, but they did not find any mark of any animal attack. This deepened the suspicion of the police and searched Sallapuri’s house.
During the search, the police found Venkataswamy’s body in a ditch behind the house. Subsequently, the police strictly questioned Sallapuri. Finally, during interrogation, Sallapuri confessed his crime.
In his statement to the police, Sallapuri revealed that she had poisoned her husband. He told that he did all this so that he could grab the government compensation worth lakhs of rupees for the death of a tiger attack. At present, the police have arrested the accused Sallapuri and is taking further legal action.
