Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Durga Puja pandal of Santosh Mitra Square on Friday and said that she prayed to Maa Durga to form a new government after the 2026 West Bengal assembly elections, which should restore the lost ‘Sonar Bangla’ Gaurav of the state.
Shah said that Bengal should once again become safe, peaceful and rich and fulfill the dream of Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore. He said, “I have prayed to Maa Durga that after this assembly elections, a government formed a government that can make the state ‘Sonar Bangla’.”
On the inauguration of the pandal of Santosh Mitra Square Serbogenin Durgotsav Samiti in North Kolkata, Shah said, “I wish Durga Puja to the people of Bengal and the country.” Meanwhile, the Home Minister also mourned the deaths in the recent rain -related incidents in the state. Shah said, “I pay tribute to those who lost their lives in rain -related incidents in Bengal.”
