Samajwadi Party chief remembers former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s Facebook account has been restored after being suspended since late evening yesterday. Yadav also shared a post on his Facebook account, in which he paid tribute to Jayaprakash Narayan and remembered his call for total revolution.
Yadav wrote in his post, “What I mean by total revolution is to see the most oppressed person in the society at the pinnacle of power – Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan.”
The SP chief shared this post on the occasion of the birth anniversary of socialist leader and Bharat Ratna Jayaprakash Narayan.
Let us tell you that the Facebook account of the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, which has more than 85 lakh users, was suspended at around 6 pm yesterday evening.
It is not known why the Facebook account of the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister was suspended, but earlier today Samajwadi Party leaders targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party for suppressing the voice of the opposition.
Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Fakhrul Hasan Chand shared a post on X saying that suspending Yadav’s account is an attack on democracy.
Chand said in a post, “Suspending the Facebook account of the respected national president of the country’s third largest party, Shri Akhilesh Yadav ji is an attack on democracy. The BJP government has imposed an undeclared emergency in the country, where it wants to suppress every voice raised in protest.”
Samajwadi Party national secretary Rajeev Rai also condemned this act, saying it was an attack on India’s democratic system.
However, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the account may contain some objectionable content and Facebook’s parent company Meta has taken independent action.
Vaishnav said, “Facebook has taken action; the government has no role in this. There was a highly derogatory post on his account, so Facebook suspended the account as per its policy. The government has no role in this.”
