Akhilesh-azam meeting: Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav will visit Rampur on 8 October to meet the party’s lead leader Azam Khan. Akhilesh has fixed the date for this meeting. According to the information, they will fly from Amausi Airport to Bareilly from Amausi Airport at 10 am and will reach Azam Khan’s residence directly by road. About an hour -long program is likely to be held at Azam Khan’s house, after which Akhilesh will return to Lucknow via Bareilly.
According to SP sources, this visit of Akhilesh Yadav is taking place just a day before the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) rally in Lucknow, which is being seen as SP’s strategy from a political point of view. The party believes that the message of this meeting with Azam Khan can add enthusiasm among his supporters, which can strengthen their position in the upcoming political situation.
Azam Khan was recently released from Sitapur jail. After being in jail for almost two years, he hoped to get justice in a media interaction. He clearly stated that his relationship with the party is maintained and he will not join the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Azam Khan said, “I completely believe in myself, and I will get justice from the Supreme Court if I need the High Court and if needed.”
In the response given by Azam Khan after his release from jail, he told that Akhilesh Yadav congratulated him and called it a victory of justice. He said, “Akhilesh Yadav is a big leader, and if he said so for a small man like me, it reflects his greatness.”
Azam Khan also said that he considers himself not a senior party leader, but a big servant and worker. However, after getting out of jail, he also said that he has not talked to Akhilesh Yadav on the phone till now, and also said in a light manner that his wife’s number is no longer remembered.
Azam Khan has several criminal cases registered, including allegations of land grab and corruption. However, he has always described these allegations as a political conspiracy. Recently, the Allahabad High Court granted him bail in the alleged illegal occupation case in Rampur, after which he was released. The case was about five years old and Azam Khan’s name was revealed again in the investigation.
