New Delhi/Kolkata, April 10 (IANS). Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit West Bengal on Friday. During this, he will release the ‘Sankalp Patra’ of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the assembly elections. Ahead of his visit, Amit Shah said that West Bengal is fed up with Trinamool Congress (TMC) and wants change this time.

Home Minister Amit Shah posted on the social media platform

He also informed that he will address a public meeting in Debra, West Medinipur on Friday. Apart from this, will connect with the public through road-show in Kharagpur. He wrote in the post, “I am eager to live among the sisters and brothers of the state.”

BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ is expected to take care of various sections of the society, with special emphasis on women’s development, farmers and youth. According to party sources, the party aims to address the needs of diverse groups, and is promising a comprehensive approach to development. A special package for healthcare and education, promoting industrial development and setting up industrial areas can be announced in the ‘Sankalp-Patra’.

On the welfare schemes front, BJP may promise financial assistance of Rs 3,000 per month to the beneficiaries of ‘Lakshmi Bhandar’ scheme. Along with this, similar monthly assistance can also be promised to unemployed youth under the proposed ‘Yuva Sathi’ programme.

Fulfilling the long-standing demands of state government employees, the party is also likely to promise to pay all pending arrears of dearness allowance within 45 days of coming to power.

The main work of the party ‘Sankalp-Patra’, which started in the first week of February, was completed by the end of the month. The party had sought suggestions from industrialists, academicians, businessmen, teachers, doctors, students, housewives, farmers, Bengali migrants and other sections of the society. ‘Developed West Bengal Sankalp Patra Consultation Collection Campaign’ was launched on 7 February.

The objective of this campaign was to prepare a manifesto for the 2026 assembly elections by understanding the aspirations of the citizens. Party workers reached every booth and house, listened to people’s problems and expectations, and presented the BJP as a family that listens to everyone.

Under the campaign, it was said that every dream from farmers to youth startups should be included in the future planning. According to the party, this is not just a political promise but a social contract. Phone, email and QR code scanning were used for citizen suggestions. In addition, ‘Akanksha Collection Boxes’ were installed in almost every district.
