Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi continued his attack on Home Minister Amit Shah, who had strongly criticized the Congress party in his speech during the debate on electoral reforms in the Lok Sabha.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Home Minister did not give a direct answer to any of his questions.

He claimed, “Yesterday Amit Shah ji was very nervous. He used wrong language, his hands were trembling. He is under tremendous mental pressure. Everyone saw this yesterday. Whatever I asked him, he did not give a direct answer. He did not give any evidence. I have directly challenged him to come to the ground and discuss all my press conferences in Parliament. I did not get any answer.”

Another Congress MP Tanuj Punia echoed the same point and said, “The transparency that was expected was not visible. In what happened in Haryana, they did not answer the real questions but instead blamed the Congress. There is no answer to what is happening today.”

On the other hand, BJP accused Congress and the Lok Sabha opposition leader of adopting ‘hit and run’ tactics.

Attacking the Congress MP, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said, “Rahul Gandhi adopts the ‘hit-and-run’ formula… When the Prime Minister and the Home Minister speak, they get up and walk away, this is their democracy’s policy. They do not have the courage to listen to the truth. They felt bad after listening to the Union Home Minister yesterday. I believe that Rahul Gandhi will have to give up this habit… The entire Nehru family was shattered by the Home Minister’s speech.”

Tension escalated in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday when Union Home Minister Amit Shah and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi engaged in a heated exchange over allegations of “vote theft”.

Gandhi repeatedly challenged Shah to debate the issues raised in the press conference, including claims of irregularities in voter lists.

Shah responded firmly, saying, “Parliament will not function as per his wishes,” and insisted that he would answer all questions in their own order.

Shah also defended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, calling it a necessary process to “cleanse” voter lists. Accusing the opposition of double standards, he said that they praise the Election Commission when they win and criticize it when they lose.

The confrontation reached its peak with opposition MPs walking out of the House during Shah’s reply, leading to the adjournment of the Lok Sabha.
