Bikaner, May 17 (IANS). Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, while talking to journalists in Bikaner, clarified the position of the Central Government on many important issues. He discussed in detail the proposed visit of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, border security, organizational programs of BJP and schemes of the Central Government.
Meghwal said, “Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Bikaner is proposed soon. It is likely that he will stay here for the night on May 25 and hold a meeting with the Border Security Force (BSF) and other security agencies on May 26. During this, a detailed review will be done regarding the security situation in the border districts, challenges on the border and safety of citizens.”
The Union Minister said that the safety of citizens living in border areas is the top priority of the government. Referring to the increasing challenges in the areas bordering Pakistan, he assured that the central government is taking full vigilance.
Arjun Ram Meghwal defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign visits, saying, “Whenever the Prime Minister goes on a tour, many decisions are definitely taken in the interest of India. India’s interest remains paramount in the Prime Minister’s visits.”
He also expressed concern over the disruptions in oil supply and said that the government is working on alternative arrangements so that there is minimal impact on the common citizen and the economy.
Highlighting the organizational programs of the BJP, Meghwal said, “It is part of the functioning of the Bharatiya Janata Party that we run membership drives, prepare new workers and then provide training to those workers.” He said that the ongoing training camps are related to the ideology and policies of BJP.
“No matter how senior a worker is, it is mandatory for him to attend the training camp,” he stressed.
Responding to the opposition’s continuous attacks on the NEET exam paper leak controversy, Meghwal said that the central government is completely sensitive regarding this issue. On Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s demand for removal of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, he replied, “When the investigation is going on, he should also pay attention to it. But he is in the opposition, so he will speak his mind. However, the government is sensitive about the matter. The investigation process is progressing rapidly, and if anyone is found guilty, he will not be spared.”
Mentioning various welfare schemes of the Central Government, Meghwal said that the poor, farmers, women and youth are benefiting from these schemes. He stressed on better implementation of these schemes at the local level.
