Azam Khan on Quitting Politics: After being independent of jail, Azam Khan has again stepped into the streets of Rampur politics. The years spent behind the bars did not weaken him, but has intensified his political aura. As soon as he came out of jail, Azam Khan clearly said that he should have given up politics after the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, but Khudjarjee and incomplete works did not let him back down.
Wanted to quit politics, but Swayamjarjee stopped
Azam Khan shared his experience of his long political journey and said that the situation in Rampur has deteriorated in the last ten years. Azam said emotionally, “People’s pain was in the eyes and many tasks were incomplete. That was the reason that we opted to stay in politics. We should have left politics after Mulayam Singh left, but our self -sufficiency kept us standing ahead.
He further explained that he has always struggled against the Nawabs. “Rani was equal to Victoria, the chair was of the Nawab, due to her betrayal, the country could not get independent till 1947. When the freedom warriors came out of Meerut in 1857, they came to Rampur, but the army of Nawabs stopped them. This history makes us remember that the path of justice and struggle is not easy.”
Azam Khan rejected speculations about going to BSP
Recently, there was a discussion in some media and political corridors that Azam Khan can leave the Samajwadi Party and go to the BSP. On this, Azam Khan refused clearly, “These are the talk of childishness. I had not left the SP earlier, but I was expelled from the party. Mulayam Singh made me out under compulsion and then took back in love. Our relationship was always different.”
During the jail visit, Azam Khan spent about five years behind bars. This experience strengthened him politically and personally. After coming out of jail, his return to Rampur has become a topic of discussion.
