Palghar, June 9 (IANS). There is a situation of tension regarding the alleged ‘Love Jihad’ case that has come to light in Dahanu located in Palghar district of Maharashtra. Dahanu bandh has been called by the entire Hindu community on June 10 in protest against the case. After this call, political and social agitation has intensified in the area.
Resentment is being seen regarding this matter among various Hindu organizations and citizens at the local level. Organizations say that the matter should be thoroughly and impartially investigated and strict action should be taken against the culprits. In view of the bandh call, the administration has also become alert and necessary precautionary measures are being taken to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Chitra Wagh has decided to react on this matter. She will address the press conference on June 10 at 12:30 pm at the BJP office in Dahanu. In this press conference, she can express her views on various aspects related to the case.
It is being told that earlier Chitra Wagh had demanded the Chief Minister of the state Devendra Fadnavis to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate this matter. After this, information has come to light that the Chief Minister has given instructions to the Director General of Police of the state that an SIT should be formed for a detailed investigation of the case.
According to government sources, the police administration has been instructed to investigate this entire episode with sensitivity in view of the seriousness of it. It has also been asked to ensure that the investigation is conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
The local administration has also tightened security arrangements to avoid any untoward situation. In view of the possible demonstration and bandh, preparations are being made to increase the deployment of police force and keep surveillance in sensitive areas.
At present, the matter remains a topic of discussion at both political and social levels. All eyes are on the situation in the area regarding the proposed Dahanu Bandh on June 10 and the press conference of the BJP MLA.
