Bihar: Rahul vote mobilization

Voter Adhikar Yatra became national headlines and witness to solidarity of India block, but the real question is that the central politics of the country is also going to be dependent on what is going to be held for the grand alliance and especially the Congress.

There is a saying, Ara district house Baa, Kavana talk fear Ba (Ara district house fear). So, in this city of the south-western part of the state, there was a thoughtful symbolizing message of the conclusion of the opposition grand alliance or the concluding the Voter Adhikar Yatra of India Block led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha in the Lok Sabha in the Lok Sabha (although the formal ended in the capital Patna on 1 September two days later). Not only this, the event was held before 1857 at the stadium named Veer Kunwar Singh, a great hero of the freedom struggle. In fact, the journey started from the Dehri on Son of Sasaram, a few miles away, reached the entire Bihar and reached there. The use of symbols was complete in this, but almost all the regions of the state about 1,300 km and 16 days of this journey of South, Central, North, Seemanchal are the most important question. The reason, assembly elections are to be held in October-November and the special revision campaign of the Election Commission is also in view of that. The process of the Commission is under question and it is heard in the Supreme Court. The opposition is making him an issue and accusing the Commission of helping the ruling NDA. Of course, this journey was also a campaign to make voters aware of their franchise and also a campaign to expand in their vote realm.

It is also worth noting that the journey started and end in parts of Uttar Pradesh, where the Grand Alliance also got a lot of seats in the 2020 assembly elections and 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Not only this, the route of the yatra was decided in such a way that the journey passed through the strengthening areas of the Grand Alliance through the areas of Seemanchal and North Bihar, where the grand alliance is leading or lost seats by a minor difference. Especially in the areas of Seemanchal, Mithilanchal and Magadha, where the Yadav-Muslim (MY) equation was needed. There was also an emphasis on compensation for the loss due to AIMIMM of Asaduddin Owaisi in the last assembly elections in Seemanchal. He also showed an attempt to bring some extremely backward (EBC) and a part of Dalits or Mahadalits with him. The crowd gathered in the yatra and the assessment of journalists present on the spot shows that it also got success. It is a different matter how this crowd is able to benefit the grand alliance in elections.

Travel equation

In this sense too, the real attraction of this journey was Rahul Gandhi. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Leader of Opposition in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) led by Tejashwi Yadav, Dipankar Bhattacharya of CPI-Male, Mukesh Sahni of Developing Human Party (VIP) and leaders of other components parties were demonstrating solidarity. Congress state president Rajesh Ram was also kept in focus. She belongs to a Dalit fraternity (Jatav) who was once with the Congress, but later joined the Mahadalit equation of BSP and perhaps Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Its effect is more in the areas adjoining Uttar Pradesh and slightly less in the rest of the areas including Seemanchal and Kosi zone. In this fraternity, the effect of CPI-Male is also seen especially in the districts like South-Western part i.e. Ara, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Sasaram, Jahanabad. In the last assembly elections, some of the districts got some of this district, after the survey of CSDS, according to the survey, about 15 percent of the votes were received by the BSP. But this time the situation looks changing. The emphasis of the Congress or the Grand Alliance is to bring it into its court.

Rahul’s attraction

In such Dalit castes and some backward, Rahul Gandhi has raised interest in his social justice agenda. He has been engaged in this work for a long time to make Rajesh Ram a state president and save the Constitution and through Social Justice Conferences. If it gets a little benefit, then the votes of the Grand Alliance with the Congress may increase. Apart from this, Rahul has managed to create attraction among the youth angry with paper leaks, unemployment. Then, many experts believe that minorities see hope in them. Due to this, the minority votes who went to Nitish under Owaisi or Pasmanda (Backward) equation from RJD, are probably expecting the grand alliance.

Bilash, RJD is the party with all the effective presence in the state. But due to the bullying of Yadavs in favor of RJD, the upper castes are unlikely, very backward and Dalit castes have also gone away. Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi also consider this to be full. Therefore, Tejashwi has also held many conferences, etc. to increase penetration among the most backward and Dalit castes. But Rahul’s effort is bringing color and if some of these castes turn towards the grand alliance with his assurance, then he can get a lot of benefit.

Khisiahat: BJP workers vandalized outside Bihar Congress office Sadaqat Ashram for abusing the Prime Minister’s mother

This equation was also seen in Uttar Pradesh in the last Lok Sabha elections. There, the chemistry of Rahul and Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav had helped to bring back the second backward and Dalit castes who were filled with the M-Vai equation and the results changed in a miraculous manner. BJP’s seats had reached below half. Akhilesh also assured them in a way by giving more tickets to extremely backward and Dalit castes that there would be no previous mistakes. So it was probably part of the same strategy that Akhilesh attended the last phase of visit to Bihar.

Perhaps this strategy also shows that Tejashwi described Rahul as the next Prime Minister in his speeches, but Rahul deferred the question that Tejashwi is the Chief Ministerial candidate from the grand alliance. He said this much, “There is complete coordination between us, there is no problem.” During the journey, Rahul’s impact in the equation of the Grand Alliance was also seen in many other cases. For example, in the area of Purnia, Kosi, there was a disappearance between Pappu Yadav and Tejashwi, due to which some seats in that region had gone out of the Grand Alliance in the last Lok Sabha elections. Pappu Yadav was involved in the entire journey and was seen praising Tejashwi. Similarly, the second screw was also with Tejashwi and Kanhaiya Kumar of Congress. He also showed softening.

Congress suffering

However, the Congress will get the benefit of this harmony and activism in getting its land back or how much it will get it. The reason is that the Congress worker Aadhaar is not much left. There has been an attempt to increase it, but it does not appear special. By the way, Congress people are definitely excited. It also showed it at a grand alliance meeting led by Tejashwi in Patna on 6 September. It is said that the Congress demanded about 90 seats for itself, that is, 20 more than the last 70 seats. The last time the party was able to win 19 in 70 seats and stood second in almost the same number of seats. His low performance also emerged resentment in the Tejashwi camp that if the party had done a little well, it would have been formed the government. In 2020, the NDA got power by a margin of only 12,000 votes and 10–11 seats.

This time Tejashwi’s chemistry with Rahul works in the same way as Akhilesh was seen in Uttar Pradesh, then the difference can be expected. The special thing will be how much the grand alliance can assure the most backward castes and Dalits in ticket distribution. If it happens on any scale and Congress is able to increase work at the ground level, then it can also benefit. The Congress may also need to bring people angry with the NDA of urban and upper castes, who are troubled by unemployment and paper leaks, etc. Rahul has raised interest in them, but at the moment the party does not see special penetration, like Uttar Pradesh, especially in its eastern part and he also got its benefit. For example, the Congress won the seat of Allahabad and Ajay Rai in Varanasi had managed to reduce Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s victory.

NDA mathematics

Well, Rahul’s visit in Bihar probably also had an effect that the administration did not allow a gathering at Gandhi Maidan in view of the huge crowd in Patna on 1 September. On not getting permission, he wanted to go to Ambedkar Chowk while marching. The rally was not allowed to reach there either. The initial plan was to gather political messages by gathering the leaders of the India coalition with a huge crowd of people. In Nitish Raj, for the first time such a political restriction appeared. Also note that Rahul Gandhi was also allowed to start the journey in Sasaram for a long time. Not only this, a helipad had to be made in the light of the headlight of motorcycles in the dark of night.

The reasons for why the Nitish government had to take all this step is not hidden but it has not been the culture of Bihar politics. The opposition alleges that the command is not in Nitish’s hands or his health is not good. Only during the JP movement, the Congress government had tried such a prohibition. This time there was no such situation, but the question of safety of Rahul Gandhi and big leaders kept arising again and again. Meanwhile, in Darbhanga, someone abused the Prime Minister’s mother from the stage. The BJP wanted to make it an issue. He called for a bandh in the state on 5 September. During this time there was a clash at many places, mild violence also took place but the matter did not increase much. In fact, the Congress’ organization is not even worth taking on the BJP at that level.

Exercise to practice: Nitish Kumar starts pink bus service for women in Patna on 8 September

If the elections are on the head, then the BJP and JDU have increased activeness. There have been many visit to the Prime Minister itself and the Bihar government has started announcing electoral concessions. He issued a gift of Rs 10,000 to women this month, the elderly pension has been increased from Rs 450 to 1100. Electricity has been announced to provide electricity up to 100 units, so that Nitish did not appear to agree earlier. Nitish government can get the benefit of such schemes, especially women who are getting financial help. It seemed that Nitish is calm and there could be a scatter in JDU, but here the party seems to be improving its nail and speculation that she wants to increase the number of seats by fighting the most seats in the NDA.

Third angle

Chirag Paswan is also very active through rallies and various events and his effort is probably to get some more seats in the NDA. But the real third angle election strategist Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraj is trying to form a party. Now it seems that she can dent the votes of both the Grand Alliance and the NDA. Especially urban youths are showing its effect, who want something new.

Clothing of opposition

There is enthusiasm among the Congress workers from the yatra but the people of RJD and CPI-ML are more excited. He is to fight the election against the NDA mainly. Whether or not this enthusiasm persists till the election is maintained. However, two-three things are clearly visible. The journey created a new ulcer and Bihar is in a new way in the national headlines. Some referendum also showed its effect. The entire opposition is beginning to look renewed. There Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin joined the Yatra and on the last day, Yusuf Pathan from Trinamool Congress, Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena Udghav faction, leaders of NCP Sharad Pawar also arrived. As soon as the Chief Ministers of the Congress states arrive, the new enthusiasm in the Congress and India blocks may be of profit for it.

However, Rahul Gandhi Bihar has also tried to make “vote theft” a national issue through vote journey. They are directly targeting the Election Commission. The Commission is also forced to bring changes in its methods during the previous Supreme Court hearing. Now the exercise to add objections and new names will continue till the day of enrollment and the Commission has promised the court to settle them. However, since then the Commission has stopped the custom of release of data daily. It is to be seen what atmosphere is created when the final voter list is released on 30 September. Meanwhile, there are also reports of applications for several lakh new voters. In the end, what the appearance it takes will also give an idea of the challenge.

However, in this process of the Election Commission, an important reason was given by the intruders, it does not seem to be an issue. The Commission has not been able to reveal any such figure. If issues like Bangladeshi, Rohingia infiltration do not come out, then the attempt to polarize for the BJP will not be able to work. The issue of cutting names and adding names is different. Now it seems that the BJP has a bigger support with Nitish Kumar, so it seems to be ready to give them more respect and seats. Many things can be cleaned in the upcoming fortnight. It probably has a big examination of Rahul Gandhi and Congress. That is, Bihar can clear many issues of national politics.
