New Delhi, October 13 (IANS). There has been a stir in the politics of Bihar regarding the hearing of the IRCTC scam case involving Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. On this matter, opposition parties, especially leaders of Congress and Grand Alliance, have accused the BJP government at the Center of targeting political opponents.
Congress MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh reacted sharply on this matter. He said, “We all in Bihar knew what was going to happen today. The time for such action was chosen at the time of elections. BJP always targets its political opponents, be it through ED, CBI or courts. But this will have no impact on Bihar elections, rather it will have the opposite effect.”
He claimed that the people of Bihar understand such actions and will respond to it through votes in the assembly elections.
Congress MLA Shakeel Ahmed Khan also expressed his views on this issue. He said, “Such actions do not make any difference. We are the people who raise the voice of the Dalits and the underprivileged. We are with the Indi alliance and no one can suppress us. We stand firmly with Tejashwi Yadav.”
Stressing on the unity of the grand alliance, Shakeel Ahmed Khan said that the current “corrupt government” is certain to go and the seat sharing will be finalized soon.
Congress state president Rajesh Ram also gave his reaction on this matter. He said, “We are in Delhi with all our leaders and are taking guidance from our senior leaders. There is no need to worry. A decision on seat sharing will be taken soon. The grand alliance will fight the elections with unity and register a big victory.”
At the same time, BJP leader Rituraj Sinha, while referring to the preparations of NDA, said, “Seat distribution and selection of candidates in NDA has been done in a positive manner. The complete list will be released soon. Jitan Ram Manjhi has clearly said that he will remain with Prime Minister Narendra Modi till his death, which is praiseworthy. The people of Bihar are watching the development work of the double engine government and we are hopeful that we will achieve a big victory.”
