National President of Bahujan Samaj Party Mayawati has kept her stand clear on the issue of women’s reservation and has given strict instructions to the workers to avoid any kind of confusion. The party leadership has made it clear that the stand decided on April 15, 2026 still stands, while at the same time instructions have been given to strengthen the organization, increase the support base and give full strength in the preparation for the upcoming UP Assembly elections 2027.
BSP chief Mayawati on Wednesday posted on the social media platform During this time, whatever necessary guidelines were given in the UP state level big meeting of the party held in Lucknow on March 31 last month regarding preparing the party organization, increasing the support base and financial strength of the party through cadre etc. and preparation for the UP Assembly general elections, have to be followed with full honesty and devotion.
He further wrote that in the meetings, it is necessary to tell about the work done in the development of the state and public interest etc. under the leadership of BSP in UP. It is also to be told in the meetings that all the expressways etc. that have been built in UP till now and the airport in Noida, many other such works of public interest have been done, the plan and outline of which were made during the BSP government, and all these works would have been completed to a great extent if the Congress government at the Center at that time had not created obstacles in them due to its casteist mentality towards BSP.
The BSP chief said that what is meant to say is that for the proper development of UP, development/progress of the entire society and better law and order, this can be possible only under the ‘Sarvajan Hitaya and Sarvajan Sukhay’ rule of BSP through ‘Rule of Law by Law’, appeal to pay attention to this. He said that not only this, whatever necessary guidelines were given in the interest of the party and the movement in the big meeting of All India, except UP, held on February 22 in Lucknow, they also have to be completed on time.
Mayawati said that the party’s stand given by me in the media on April 15 regarding women’s reservation is being held in all the meetings being called at the local level by the party in the entire country including Uttar Pradesh, on the guidelines given by the party. After that, the party’s stand has also been posted on Facebook and if necessary, further statements will be given.
He further said that in the matter of support for women’s reservation, the party’s stand is still the same as on April 15, no change has been made in it. This must also be told about in these meetings so that the party people do not get misled on this special issue of women’s reservation, but as per the discipline of the party, there should not be any protest etc.
Let us tell you that on this issue, BSP chief Mayawati had recently said in a statement that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act is definitely an important step, but to make it completely effective, it is very important to keep in mind the social balance. According to him, if separate quota is not ensured for SC, ST and OBC women in women’s reservation, then women from deprived sections of the society will not be able to get the expected benefits.
Mayawati clearly said that women empowerment will be meaningful only when equal participation of women of all sections is ensured in it. They believe that considering the proportion of women’s population, they should get adequate representation, and special protection of the interests of women from weaker sections is also necessary.
