Today i.e. on Tuesday, the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day after continuous uproar by the opposition members during the proceedings of the budget session, which caused disruption in the House and many MPs were suspended.

There was an uproar during the address of opposition leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. During his speech, some Congress MPs allegedly threw papers towards the Speaker, further escalating tension in the House. This disruption led to frequent disruptions, making it difficult to continue the proceedings.

In response to the disorderly conduct, the Speaker suspended six Congress MPs for the remainder of the session. The suspended members include Hibi Eden, Amarinder Singh, Raja Waring, Manickam Tagore, Gurjit Singh Aujla and Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said it would lodge a formal complaint with the Speaker and demand strict action against the MPs involved.

Earlier, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi made serious allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of “compromising” and “selling the country” through the India-US trade deal.

Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Rahul Gandhi said, “Modi ji is nervous. The (US-India) trade agreement which was stalled for the last few months was finalized by Narendra Modi last night. There is a lot of pressure on him. Narendra Modi ji’s image may be tarnished. The main thing is that our Prime Minister has reached an agreement. The public should think about this. For the first time, the opposition representative was not allowed to speak on the President’s speech.”

He further said, “Narendra Modi ji has sold your hard work in this trade agreement because he has compromised. He has sold the country. Narendra Modi ji is scared because those who created his image are now spoiling his image.”

When Rahul Gandhi was asked why opposition representatives considered Prime Minister Modi “compromised”, he cited the alleged case against Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani in the US and the Epstein files.

He said, “There is a case going on in America against Adani ji, actually this case is against Modi ji. There is much more information in the Epstein files than this which America has not released yet. Due to this also there is pressure. These are the two main pressure points. The country should understand this.”

This happened after India and the US signed a trade deal under which tariffs on Indian exports were reduced from 25 percent to 18 percent.

However, the Congress has sought full details of the India-US trade agreement and raised questions on several key aspects, such as claims of opening up the agriculture sector, demand to reduce tariffs to “zero” and a freeze on purchases of Russian oil as claimed by US President Donald Trump.

Rahul Gandhi’s reaction came when he referred to former Army Chief General MM Naravane’s unpublished memoir related to border tensions with China, saying he had confirmed the authenticity of the article published in the magazine.
