Patna, January 31 (IANS). CPI (ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya has described the government’s recommendation to get the CBI investigated in the death case of NEET student in Patna as a victory of the people’s movements and the struggles of the family members.
Dipankar Bhattacharya said that the Bihar government has finally had to bow down to the ever-increasing pressure and the ongoing widespread mass movements of AISA, student-women and family members regarding the heinous incident of rape-murder of a student in Bihar and has recommended a CBI investigation. Describing it as the victory of the people’s struggle, he said that this fight is not over yet.
He clearly said that merely recommending a CBI inquiry is not enough. What is needed is that this investigation should be conducted under the direct direction and supervision of a sitting judge of the Supreme Court, so that a fair, independent and trustworthy investigation can be ensured.
CPI(ML) General Secretary alleged that the Bihar government and its police administration have been playing a negative and suspicious role in this entire matter from the beginning. The attitude of the police-administration has been to suppress the incident, to deny the serious truth like rape-murder and to protect the influential and influential accused. In such a situation, leaving the responsibility of justice on the state government agencies would be injustice to the victim’s family and the society.
CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya met the family of the deceased student on Saturday and assured them of the full support of the party and the mass movements in this fight for justice. He said that this fight is not just for one family, but for the safety, respect and justice of the daughters of Bihar, which will be taken to a decisive end.
He said that ‘Beti Bachao-Nyaya Yatra’ will be organized on the joint call of AIPWA and AISA to demand justice. This yatra will start from Jehanabad and pass through Nalanda, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Arwal, Patna districts and garner wide public support. This yatra will run from February 4 to 10 and an assembly march will be organized in Patna on February 10.
