Australia won the toss and decided to bowl. Coming to bat first, Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma gave a good start to the Indian team and added 56 runs for the first wicket. Abhishek was out as the first wicket after scoring 28 runs on 21 balls. After this, wickets kept falling at regular intervals. The result was that the team could score only 167 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Shubhman Gill was the best scorer by scoring 46 runs on 39 balls. Shivam Dubey scored 22 runs, captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 20 runs and Akshar Patel scored 21 not out.

The Indian team is ahead 2-1 in the five-match T20 series. The first match of the series was canceled due to rain. The fifth and last match of the series will be played on Saturday.
