Patna, May 9 (IANS). Congress has raised serious questions regarding BJP’s government formation in West Bengal. Bihar Congress State President Rajesh Ram gave a sharp reaction to this entire incident on Saturday. He claimed that there were large-scale irregularities during the election process in West Bengal.
In a special conversation with news agency IANS, he said that there was alleged robbery of votes in the state and during this period the role of the Election Commission was also under suspicion. He specifically mentioned Election Commission official Gyanesh Kumar and said that when all this was happening, these incidents took place in his presence.
The Congress leader said that names of about 27 lakh voters were removed from the voter list, whereas even before this about 72 to 73 thousand names had been removed. This action was taken unilaterally and clearly indicates that the Election Commission was directly involved in it. Along with this, he alleged that various government agencies were also engaged in this process and all together influenced the change of power in Bengal.
Rajesh Ram further said that now the public is not deciding the victory or defeat in the elections, rather it is being decided in whose favor the result will be. According to him, this is a matter of serious concern for the democratic system. He said that an attempt has been made to form the government by ignoring the Constitution, democratic processes and the rights of voters.
The Congress State President further said that the most shocking thing is that by keeping the Constitution in mind, democratic processes, democratic principles and voters’ rights were weakened. Allegedly, votes were looted and the government is now being formed through the same process.
