Gariaband, 31 December (IANS). Lakhpati Didi Yojana is an initiative launched by the Government of India, the main objective of which is to empower rural women and make them economically independent. Under this scheme, various skill development training, technical assistance and financial assistance are provided to women associated with self-help groups, so that they can earn an income of one lakh rupees or more annually.
Women of the self-help group of Gram Panchayat Sarkada of District Gariaband Chhura Block have become millionaires today by doing different businesses. These millionaire sisters are moving towards self-reliance by earning lakhs of rupees annually and have become self-reliant.
Millionaire Didi Narmada Nishad while talking to news agency IANS said that she is working by joining Jai Maa Bhavani Self Help Group. First she earned some money by running a sewing machine and opened a grocery shop, earned a good amount of money from that too and now she is earning manifold profits by converting that money into bricks. To increase her employment, she took a loan through the group and is earning up to Rs 1.5 lakh annually. Now she has become self-reliant and is running her family.
Didi Leena Sahu, the millionaire of Jai Maa Lakshmi Group, told that after taking a loan through the group, she is running a small fancy grocery store in her house. Besides, she is earning around Rs 1.5 lakh annually by doing agricultural work and receiving Krishi Mitra, Mahtari Vandan, and Kisan Samman Nidhi. Now she has come in the category of Lakhpati Didi and is living a very happy life with her family.
Phuleshwari Nishad of Radharani Group also cultivated vegetables and paddy, and she became Lakhpati Didi by selling vegetables. She took a loan through the group and is earning profit by cultivating green vegetables and paddy. Now this has become his livelihood. We are on the path to self-reliance by producing green vegetables for twelve months and selling them in the market. She told that she earns one lakh rupees annually and is living a self-reliant life with her family.
Cluster coordinator Jharna Sahu said that women are becoming self-reliant by joining self-help groups. Through loans, they are doing small business as a means of livelihood, and also all those works are covered under Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
