New Delhi, April 1 (IANS). Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his good wishes on ‘Utkal Day’. The Chief Minister said that the unwavering support of the Central Government for the development of Odisha under your (Prime Minister Modi) visionary leadership has proved to be a transformative step.
Chief Minister Majhi wrote in a post on the social media platform Your words have deeply touched every Odia heart.
He said that your unbreakable bond with Odisha has always been a source of inspiration for us. The cultural connect that you have established between Gujarat and Odisha through the shared heritage of Sun Temples and the sacred tradition of Rath Yatra stands testimony to the civilizational threads that unify our great nation. Your personal participation in the ‘Pahandi’ ritual during the Ahmedabad Rath Yatra is a living testimony of this precious cultural unity.
He said that the Central Government’s unwavering support for the development of Odisha under your visionary leadership has proved to be a transformative step. A record allocation of Rs 10,600 crore for the railway sector in 2025-26, coupled with a special emphasis on port-led development, is poised to position Odisha as a leading maritime and industrial hub. Your appreciation of our government’s commitment towards empowering more than one crore women and grooming ‘Lakhpati Didis’ through ‘Subhadra Yojana’ is a deep encouragement to our ‘Nari Shakti’ movement.
CM Majhi said that as Odisha stands at the threshold of completing its 100 years as a distinct and glorious state, we reiterate our resolve to carry forward your vision of ‘Developed Odisha for a Developed India’. The preservation of Odia identity—our language, our culture and our identity—will remain the fundamental basis of our governance.
He said that with the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath and the collective will of our people, Odisha will scale new heights of prosperity and progress. We are committed to moving forward on this path of development in full partnership with the Government of India.
