Congress party national president Mallikarjun Kharge suddenly deteriorated on Wednesday, after which he was admitted to the hospital. Priyank Kharge, son of Karnataka IT minister and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, shared an update on his father’s health, saying he was stable and doing well.

In a post on X on Wednesday, Priyank said, “Mr. Kharge has been advised to apply a pacemaker and he has been admitted to the hospital for the planned process. He is stable and doing well”

Kharge, president of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), was admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, Kharge will visit Kohima on 7 October and address a public rally at Naga Solidarity Park.

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President and Lok Sabha MP S.K. Supangmerran Jamir made this announcement during a press conference at the Congress Bhavan in Kohima.

According to Jamir, the Congress expects at least 10,000 people to gather in this rally. This program, based on the theme of “safe democracy, safe secularism and safe Nagaland”, will also highlight major issues like youth employment, entrepreneurship, good governance and road connectivity. The statement said that after the rally, there will be separate meetings between Kharge and the Congress Committee on Political Affairs, Propel Committee and Presidents of District Congress Committees.

The Congress MP stressed that this rally is not just a party ceremony, but also a political platform to deal with the challenges faced by Nagaland and Northeast. He appealed to citizens, especially minorities to express their concerns by joining the rally, and said that the regional leaders would carry forward this campaign.

Congress General Secretary (Organization) K.C. Venugopal and the party’s Nagaland in -charge, Odisha MP Saptagiri Shankar Ulaka and other national leaders will also be there.

Jamir underlined that the rally is the beginning of the comprehensive campaign of the Congress in the region, in which the party is taking a tough stand on issues like the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), governance and constitutional rights.

He said that the Congress high command is serious about removing these concerns and may invite other political parties to join the movement on a common platform to protect the future of democracy, secularism and Nagaland.

The organizing committee co-convenor and Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) general secretary Akuonuo Miychi appealed for cooperation and encouraged all the citizens to ensure that the message of the rally reached every house in Nagaland.
