New Delhi, February 5 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the motion of thanks on President Draupadi Murmu’s address in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. During this, he accused Congress of insulting Sikh Gurus.

He said that yesterday an MP of this House was called a traitor by the crown prince of Congress. Imagine, their ego has reached the seventh heaven. He (Congress Yuvraj) called him a traitor because he was a Sikh. This was an insult to the Sikhs, an insult to the Gurus. This was an expression of the deep-seated hatred towards Sikhs within the Congress.

He said that the Congress party has deep hatred for the people of Assam. When Congress opposed the decision to award Bharat Ratna to Bhupen Hazarika, I felt very sad. Mallikarjun Kharge dismissed Hazarika ji as ‘just a singer’, which is a grave insult not only to Assam but to the entire art world.

He said that not only this, due to political hatred both the legs of our Sadanandan ji Master were cut off. Both his legs were amputated when he was young. He is living his life with an amputated leg, but his values are so high that even in his speech no abusive language is used. I heartily congratulate such a personality, Master Sadanandan Ji, because even after so many attacks, he continued his vow of serving the country and today he is contributing in the policy making of the country.

PM Modi said that power is not the path to happiness for us, power is a medium of service for us. Mudra Yojana helped lakhs and crores of people. Emphasis was given to self-employment. Congress never promoted startup culture. Their condition is such that they are not able to even manage their home startup.

He said Congress is desperate and wants to dig Modi’s grave because before 2014, many lives were lost at unmanned railway crossings. In response, we closed all such crossings. Furthermore, before 2014, more than 18,000 villages across the country did not have electricity. Since then, electricity and lighting have been provided in these villages.

He said that earlier, there were frequent reports of shortage of ammunition and bulletproof jackets for our forces. We solved the problem by providing our military with the necessary resources and equipment.
