Palaniswami told reporters, “Last night at 9 pm, I met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence. I spoke to him about the political situation in Tamil Nadu and discussed the end of DMK rule. AIADMK is in talks with several parties for an alliance and we will form the government in Tamil Nadu with the alliance.”

Highlighting the rising crime rate in Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK general secretary said he could not meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to the state due to public meetings.

Palaniswami O. Reiterating his party’s stand regarding the readmission of Panneerselvam into the AIADMK, he said Amit Shah has assured him that he will not interfere in the internal affairs of the party.

He said, “Crime has increased a lot after DMK came to power and there is no safety for women and children under their rule. When Home Minister Amit Shah came to Tamil Nadu, I could not meet him there because I had public meetings there. There is no place for O. Palaniswami said that Pattali Makkal Katchi has joined the NDA alliance, and raised the possibility that other parties may also join the alliance.

He said, “PMK has joined hands with AIADMK and soon many more parties will join us. I cannot say this openly right now. It will be revealed once everything is finalized. The government will be formed in Tamil Nadu under the leadership of AIADMK.”
