Tirunelveli, April 3 (IANS). Chief Minister MK Stalin is going to make a big election tour in Tirunelveli on Friday regarding the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. This visit is being considered an important part of the growing election campaign of DMK and its allies in South Tamil Nadu. Voting is to be held in the state on April 23.
As per the schedule, CM Stalin will leave Chennai at around 4:50 pm and reach Tuticorin (Thoothukudi) by air. From there he will go to Tirunelveli by road, where Nellai will address a large public meeting at the South Bypass. There is a possibility of huge crowd gathering in this rally, because the election campaign is in its final phase.
In this public meeting, CM Stalin will campaign in support of many prominent candidates of DMK and its allies. These include Assembly Speaker Appavu contesting from Radhapuram seat, sitting MLA from Palayamkottai Abdul Wahab and Subramanian, candidate from Tirunelveli seat.
Apart from this, he will also seek support for the Congress candidates who are contesting from Nanguneri and Ambasamudram seats.
The Chief Minister’s visit is taking place at a time when the DMK has finalized the seat sharing with its allies and has also released the list of candidates. Recently, CM Stalin started the election campaign in the state by announcing the party candidates.
After the Tirunelveli meeting, Chief Minister Stalin will go to Kanyakumari, where he will stay for the night. After this, he will address another public meeting there at 9 am on Saturday. On the same day he will also hold a rally in Sankarankoil in Tenkasi district.
During this time he will also campaign for DMK candidates Manoj Pandian (Alangulam), Raja (Vasudevanallur) and Kalai Kathirvan (Tenkasi) as well as MDMK candidate Rajendran (Kadayam). Besides, he will also seek votes from the people in support of the Congress candidate from Sankarankovil.
