New Delhi, January 15 (IANS). Mamata Banerjee government of West Bengal and Kolkata Police have received a big blow from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has stayed the FIR lodged against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials who conducted the search against I-Pack. BJP has launched a scathing attack on Mamata Banerjee regarding this.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters on Thursday, national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia made a scathing attack on Mamata Banerjee and said that the blow given by the Supreme Court has made it clear what jungle raj is like. Jungle Raj is exactly like Mamata Raj.
He said that Bharatiya Janata Party believes that there is a war of ideology going on in West Bengal. On one side is the Bharatiya Janata Party, West Bengal and the people who have faith in the Constitution, while on the other side is Mamata Banerjee, the embodiment of anarchy and symbol of jungle raj.
Referring to the hearing held in the Supreme Court, he said that milk has turned into milk and water into water. The Supreme Court has put a stay on the FIR lodged against ED officials. This is a slap of the law to the Chief Minister, who thinks that she is above the Constitution.
Gaurav Bhatia said that the Supreme Court has made a sharp comment on the role of West Bengal Police, DGP and Commissioner in the uniformed demonstration that was carried out to stop ED officials from doing their legal work. The Supreme Court said whether the demonstrations will now take place inside the High Court? Will you build Jantar Mantar?
He said that the division bench of the Supreme Court has said that big legal and constitutional questions are being raised and if it is not answered then a situation of anarchy will arise. Will ED, CBI and central agencies be stopped by party goons or TMC goons? Can the state police, which is following Mamata Banerjee’s orders, stop them?
Gaurav Bhatia said that a scam of Rs 2,742 crore has taken place, the investigation of which is going on, but the police and government there are interfering. Those who should have cooperated in the investigation are intimidating and stopping the investigation. What kind of jungle secret is this? West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee should answer this.
He said that messages were sent through WhatsApp, TMC goons came inside the court and tried to intimidate the judge. When a judge is not afraid, so much noise is made there that the High Court has to say in its order that the atmosphere created here is not suitable for a peaceful hearing.
Making a scathing attack, he said that those who had sworn to protect the Constitution are today tearing it apart and spreading anarchy, and the name of that person is Mamata Banerjee. Today the people of the entire country and West Bengal are asking Mamata Banerjee standing holding the file, “Why are you hiding so much, Mamata Banerjee? Is there a fear that you are suppressing?”
He said why did she run away after stealing the file and mobile phone? What was there in him that if he had come before the ED, what secrets would have been revealed? Jungle Raj is like this, where instead of supporting the ED, the Chief Minister runs away, threatens the ED, tries to destroy the evidence, steals the evidence and comes out threatening.
He said that when CBI officers went to West Bengal in 2019, they were attacked. This attack was carried out by TMC goons. Then in January 2024, when ED officials went to Shahjahan Sheikh’s house, he was attacked. In Sandeshkhali, FIR is not registered on harassment of women, but FIR is registered against ED officers. In April 2024, when NIA officials went to Purba Medinipur for investigation, they were attacked there. This sequence continued till CBI, ED, NIA and then ED.
Gaurav Bhatia said that the stay on the FIR by the Supreme Court is a slap and a strong message that there will be rule of law in India and all its states, especially West Bengal. It has become clear that if anyone was anarchist, wrong, destroying evidence, threatening ED officials, playing with the law and destroying the Constitution, it is only Mamata Banerjee, the embodiment of anarchy and symbol of jungle raj.
