Lucknow, March 9 (IANS). Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday made a scathing attack on the foreign policy of the central government and said that the BJP government has mortgaged the country’s foreign policy.
He said that the country is facing serious issues like war, inflation and Indians stranded abroad, which should be seriously discussed in the Parliament. Akhilesh Yadav said that this is happening for the first time when the influence of other countries is visible on India’s foreign policy.
He alleged that the government talks about self-reliance, but America’s pressure is visible even on important decisions like purchasing oil. He further said that the government should state its clear stand regarding the war situation. A large number of Indian citizens, working people, tourists and journalists are stranded in war-affected areas. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure their safe return. Also, controlling the supply of essential commodities and rising prices due to war should also be the priority of the government.
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said that when the first phase of the budget session of Parliament had ended, the situation was different, but in the current war-time circumstances, the priorities of the country have changed. In such a situation, issues like foreign policy, national sovereignty, supply system and security of Indians stranded abroad should be discussed in the Parliament.
Meanwhile, he expressed happiness over the increasing number of Asiatic lions in Etawah Lion Safari. He said the project, started during the Samajwadi government, was aimed at strengthening wildlife conservation and environmental balance.
Recently, the lioness of Safari ‘Neerja’ has given birth to four cubs for the third time, due to which the number of cubs here has increased to nine. Congratulating the staff and experts associated with the safari, he said that every creature has its own importance in the environmental cycle and positive initiatives are necessary for nature conservation.
The SP President also announced that on March 15, the 92nd birthday of Bahujan hero Kanshi Ram, the Samajwadi Party will organize programs as ‘Bahujan Samaj Day’ or ‘PDA Day’ at all the district headquarters of the state.
He said that Kanshiram had dedicated his life to organizing the Bahujan community and giving them participation in governance. He said that Samajwadi Party is continuously working to strengthen social justice and brotherhood under the ideology of PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority).
