Satara, June 13 (IANS). On Saturday, on completion of 12 years of Modi government, Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale gave information about the achievements of the Central Government through media interaction in Satara and Sangli of Maharashtra.
Ramdas Athawale said that since 2014, following the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, the government has taken historic steps for the upliftment of the exploited, deprived and poor sections of the society. From sending money directly into bank accounts (DBT) to providing free ration to more than 81 crore countrymen, and from opening more than 58 crore Jan-Dhan accounts to bringing nearly 25 crore people out of the poverty line, this success is truly unprecedented. Apart from this, schemes like ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme to make mothers and sisters self-reliant, free gas connections under Ujjwala scheme and ‘PM Kisan Samman Nidhi’ for Annadatas have made the lives of common citizens easier at the grassroots level and instilled a new confidence in them.
On the other hand, the comprehensive change in the country’s infrastructure is laying a strong foundation for the resolve of ‘Developed India’. Construction of approximately 4 lakh kilometers of metalled roads in villages in the last 12 years, rapidly expanding national highways, modern railway facilities like more than 164 Vande Bharat Expresses and record increase in the number of airports show that today’s India is moving forward on the path of development at a new pace. Along with this material development, the Government has also preserved our cultural consciousness and heritage and created a new identity for the world as a strong, prosperous and secure India with the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. This glorious journey of 12 years is not just a game of numbers, but a living symbol of the unwavering faith of 140 crore Indians and the changing destiny of the country.
He expressed grief over the An-32 aircraft accident. He said that the news of the crash of Indian Air Force’s An-32 transport aircraft in Jorhat, Assam is extremely sad and heartbreaking. In this tragic accident we lost 5 brave men of our Air Force. I pay my humble tribute to the martyrdom of the true sons of the country, Squadron Leader Prashant Singh, Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar, Sergeant Jitendra Sharma, Agniveer Air Khemaram Kumawat and Agniveer Air Danish Alam. The country will never forget his sacrifice in the service of the nation. In this difficult time, I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
