Mumbai, June 13 (IANS). On Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut speaking foul against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, MP Jyoti Waghmare said that words spoken in madness should not be taken too seriously.
Jyoti Waghmare said that the opposition has become nervous due to the increasing popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, hence such statements are being made. He said that these statements should not be given too much importance.
He said that till 2022, Sanjay Raut himself did not get tired of praising PM Modi, today he is using such objectionable words for PM Modi. He says that now the change has come only in his policy and intentions, whereas Prime Minister Modi is working on the politics of development.
Jyoti Waghmare said, “I think Sanjay Raut has accepted defeat. He has realized that he cannot face Eknath Shinde, so he has accepted defeat. As per the famous saying of Chanakya, when the entire opposition comes together it shows that the ruler is honest. If all these parties are coming together then it shows that our leaders, be it PM Modi, Amit Shah, Eknath Shinde or Devendra Fadnavis, are honest.” And they are working for the people. It is because of this fear that they are uniting.”
Regarding alleged political speculations regarding Uddhav Thackeray’s party MPs joining Shinde camp, Jyoti Waghmare said that the true meaning of ‘Operation Tiger’ is not to bring people from one party to another. The people of Maharashtra have proved in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections that the real ‘Tiger’ is Eknath Shinde. He said, “Our leader Eknath Shinde has kept the doors open not only for MPs and MLAs but also for the common people of Maharashtra, including farmers and labourers. This is a very important thing.”
Regarding the order to take action against Gutkha smugglers in Maharashtra under MCOCA, he said that Tukaram Mundhe is often in the news for his decisions. Many of his decisions have been in the public interest and if an officer is working in public interest, he should be supported.
On stand-up comedian Pranit More’s show controversy, he said that making a woman’s dignity the subject of jokes is not acceptable. He alleged that objectionable remarks were made against a woman and an apology was later given, but such an apology should not be accepted.
She said, “We object to objectifying women’s bodies. In Indian culture, women are given the status of mothers and goddesses. If you value a woman at the rate of a Rs 370 biryani and later apologize, then that apology is not acceptable. The women of India will strongly protest against such behaviour. I want to ask Pranit More that if someone says such a thing about your mother or sister and later apologises, will he Will this be acceptable? As an MP, I will raise this issue in the coming session against such crude comedy targeting women and body shaming for cheap fun.”
Regarding the decision to run a bulldozer on the house of Sandeep Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, he said, “A daughter who was exploited till her last breath, a daughter who is no longer in this world, but for that daughter, her mother, who raised her in her womb for nine months and fought for justice, stood strong. In this fight, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also supported her as a strength, and the mother of the victim of RG Kar Medical College in Bengal got justice. I “It seems that these brutes, who neither heard the daughter’s screams nor the mother’s cry, are now being bulldozed on their properties. It sends a strong message that if someone indulges in such cruelty and barbarity, he will have to face the consequences.”
