Kolkata, 30 December (IANS). Responding to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s comment on infiltrators, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday asked that if infiltration was happening only in West Bengal, then how did the Pahalgam terror attack and Delhi car bomb blast happen?
Addressing a public meeting in Barjora in Bankura district, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee targeted the central government.
The Chief Minister said that he does not want to create Sonar Bangla, but wants to destroy the state.
Earlier in the day, Home Minister Amit Shah while addressing the media in Kolkata attacked the Mamata Banerjee government. Amit Shah accused Mamata Banerjee of allowing infiltration into the state as well as giving them protection.
Responding to Amit Shah’s claims, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that if infiltrators came only from West Bengal, then who was behind the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam and Delhi? How did these incidents happen?”
CM Mamata Banerjee also refuted Amit Shah’s allegations that her government did not provide land for central government projects in Bengal.
Mamta Banerjee said that today you are saying that the West Bengal government did not give land for the projects of the Central Government. If this is the claim then who gave the land for the new airport at Petrapole and Andal in Bongaon? How were railway tracks made? If land is not allotted then how is Eastern Coalfield Limited (ECL) doing its work? Who gave the land in Ghokshadanga and Changarabandha?
He also criticized Amit Shah for saying that BJP will form the government in Bengal after the state assembly elections.
Mamta Banerjee said that earlier she had claimed to win 200 seats. Now this time they are talking about two-thirds majority. Could not give any figures. This time they are conducting Special Intensive Review (SIR). They think that by removing the names of voters they will win the election. At least 58 people have lost their lives. They do not know how to respect elders. Aren’t you ashamed?
He further said that today they are claiming to remove the infiltrators through SIR. What were you doing till now? Names of Matua, minorities and Hindus are being removed from the voter list today. They also declared me a Bangladeshi, even though I was born in Birbhum.
