Bareilly, July 2 (IANS). Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, while reacting on various issues, said that better relations between neighboring countries are in the interest of both the countries and the entire region. At the same time, he expressed concern over the negligence in registration of Waqf properties.
On the appeal of many citizens of India and Pakistan to restore dialogue between the two countries, Maulana Shahabuddin said that many intellectuals, bureaucrats and politicians of India have written letters to the Prime Ministers of both the countries that relations should be better. This is absolutely correct because if the neighbor is good then the environment and atmosphere is also good and this is what it means to be a neighbor.
He said that Pakistan and Bangladesh have been parts of united India. In such a situation, if relations with neighboring countries improve, it will be better for everyone. Referring to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said that he had started bus service and visa system. If the bus service starts again, the air service is restored and the train route is opened, then the sourness between India and Pakistan will end and the relations between the two countries will be good and better.
On the developments related to Iran, Maulana Shahabuddin said that after the martyrdom of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his Namaz-e-Janaza was not held nor was he cremated. Now his funeral is going to take place, for which Iran has invited heads of state of many countries. An invitation was also sent to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of Iranian President Masood Pejeshkian. Prime Minister Modi himself is not going and has nominated Bihar Governor Ata Hasnain and Assistant Foreign Minister, who will go there. This was a great opportunity for the Prime Minister to improve relations with Iran and he should have personally gone there and represented India.
He further said that India and Iran have old and friendly relations. Even during the 40-day war, Iran allowed Indian ships to pass, due to which there was not much conflict in India regarding oil, petrol and gas.
On the demand for extending the date of Waqf property registration, Maulana Shahabuddin said that after passing the Waqf Amendment Bill, the Government of India launched the ‘Umeed’ portal to digitalize the Waqf properties and locate the Waqf properties present across the country. The due date for registration on the portal has ended and the deadline extended through the Tribunal has also ended. People showed great carelessness and did not register Waqf properties on the Umeed portal despite the extended deadline. This has created a threat to the Waqf properties as it is possible that they may now come under the control of the government.
