New Delhi, April 13 (IANS). Indian flagged LPG ship ‘Jag Vikram’, which safely transited the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, is scheduled to reach Kandla port on Tuesday, April 14. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas shared this information in an official statement on Monday.

So far, 2,177 Indian sailors have been safely repatriated, including 93 in the last 24 hours. The Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Mission are continuously helping Indian citizens and assistance is being provided round the clock through the helpline.

According to the official statement, all Indian sailors present in the Gulf region are safe. DG Shipping Control Room has handled 6,073 calls and 12,867 emails so far, including 20 calls and 80 emails in the last 24 hours. A total of 2,177 Indian sailors have been brought back safely so far, of which 93 have returned from different areas of the Gulf in the last 24 hours.

Functioning at all ports in the country is continuing normally and there is no jam or disruption anywhere. A total of 3,383 containers (TEUs) bound for West Asia were received at the west coast ports, out of which return of 3,228 containers has been ensured. The remaining 155 containers are pending due to technical issues related to the shipping line, but there is no congestion or delay at any port.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is continuously working closely with the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian Missions in the Gulf region and other maritime stakeholders to ensure the safety of Indian seafarers and smooth maritime operations.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian embassies in the Gulf and West Asia region are in constant touch with the Indian community and are providing necessary advice and assistance for their security. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar also visited the United Arab Emirates between 11 and 12 April.

The government said that it is constantly monitoring the situation in the Gulf and West Asia and coordination is being maintained with state governments and union territories.

All efforts are underway to ensure the safety, security and well-being of Indian citizens. Indian missions are providing assistance through 24-hour helpline and are also sharing information related to travel, flights and local guidelines from time to time.
