Patna, November 17 (IANS). After the Delhi car blast, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti launched a scathing attack on the Centre, claiming that ‘Kashmir’s troubles are echoing at the Red Fort’, drawing a dig from JDU national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan on Monday. He said that people close the doors of democracy to such leaders.
In fact, this has come to light at a time when Mufti had criticized the Center on Sunday after the action of security forces after the blast in Delhi on November 10 and alleged that New Delhi’s policies have neither brought peace in Jammu and Kashmir nor ensured security in the national capital. Mufti said, “You told the world that everything is fine in Kashmir, but Kashmir’s troubles are echoing right in front of the Red Fort.”
JDU spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan, speaking to IANS, said, “I believe that Mehbooba Mufti is an important political figure. She was not only the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, but above all, she is an Indian citizen. It is the responsibility of all of us to maintain the sovereignty and integrity of India, and Mehbooba Mufti also cannot ignore it. The kind of anti-national activities that are taking place and the way these matters are being criticized, It turns out that in many ways people close the doors of democracy to such politicians.”
Ranjan said on the ongoing preparations for the formation of a new cabinet in Bihar after the decisive victory of the NDA, “Necessary processes are going on for the formation of the new government in Bihar.”
He also reacted to the internal strife in the family of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. On the Rohini Acharya issue, Ranjan said, “Such challenges are often seen in family-based political parties. But all I can say is that Tejashwi Yadav could neither unite his family nor lead the alliance effectively. Perhaps these were the two biggest reasons why he failed to understand that a divided family cannot match the tremendous public support given to the alliance of Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
He also responded to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Prasad Singh’s remarks in which he reiterated Rahul Gandhi’s claim that the recent election controversy was not theft but dacoity.
Ranjan said, “Just look at what is coming out. Such statements are being made even within the Lalu family. And due to infighting in the Congress, Akhilesh Singh and many Congress leaders have accused their own party of selling tickets and not fielding the right candidate. But overall, it is a big mandate. It is their responsibility to find the shortcomings and remove them. It is our responsibility to implement the promises made to the public at the grassroots level and we will fulfill them honestly.”
