Bengaluru, October 30 (IANS). Karnataka Government’s IT-BT and Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge targeted BJP on Thursday. He said that misinterpreting court instructions has become an old habit of BJP leaders.

Amidst the ongoing controversy over RSS in Karnataka, Priyank Kharge targeted BJP by posting on social media platform X. He wrote, misinterpreting court instructions has become a habit of BJP leaders. The Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal, Kalaburagi Bench, has passed only an interim order and has not passed any order quashing or quashing the suspension order of the PDO who participated in the RSS rally.”

“The suspension order will remain in abeyance till the final adjudication of the case. The tribunal has directed to list the case for final hearing on November 14 and has directed the state government to file a reply. We will file a statement and oppose the case,” he wrote.

The Kalaburagi bench of the Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal (KSAT) has granted only interim relief on the suspension order of the Panchayat Development Officer (PDO), but the BJP is publicizing it as its victory. Kharge made it clear that the suspension order will remain in abeyance till the final decision and the government will strongly oppose the case.

This controversy has erupted over the activities of RSS in Karnataka. In October 2025, a PDO who participated in the RSS’s ‘Path Sanchar’ (route march) in Chittapur area was suspended by the state government for violating service rules. Kharge had written a letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on October 13 demanding to strictly stop government employees from participating in the activities of organizations like RSS.

He had warned of issuing show-cause notice and suspension. In the letter, Kharge said that the RSS is running shakhas in government schools, colleges and temples, which inculcates negative thoughts in the minds of the youth and promotes anti-constitutional philosophy.
